The CU Denver Student Food Pantry is a direct response to the need of the CU Denver student body for more resources to fight food insecurity and the lack of nutritious food. With rising fees, textbook costs, and living expenses, it has become increasingly difficult for students to juggle the costs of living with the costs of obtaining a university degree, and thus many students are finding themselves choosing between essentials such as food and the costs of college.
CU Denver students have access to free food and hygiene products at the Lynx Food Pantry, temporarily relocated 2nd Level near the all gender bathrooms in the Lola & Rob Salazar Student Wellness Center. All students are allocated 10 points each week to use on items from the Lynx Food Pantry, whether it just be to grab a snack for a day or to help out with a meal, just make sure to bring your LynxCard.
All CU Denver students (wellness fee-assessed and non-fee-assessed) and University Staff and Faculty have access to the CU Denver Food Pantry. Students who are non-fee-assessed, and therefore do not have Salazar Student Wellness Center access will be escorted to the Food Pantry area by a WRS staff member.
Swipe Out Hunger - CU Denver has partnered with Swipe Out Hunger, a national nonprofit committed to eliminating food insecurity for students on college campuses across the country, and Lynx Dining to offer free meal swipes to students needing food assistance. Any CU Denver student may self-nominate themselves to request campus meal swipes from our Meal Swipe Bank, even if they do not live in the residence halls.
